As a child, when we holidayed abroad, I would always choose the same pudding in the restaurant at the beach. Without fail my mum would know what l would choose.......... a banana boat. Bananas are a favourite of mine so would be a no brainer, then there's the ice-cream, the wafer, the cream and a cherry on the top. It's a winner of a dessert with so much to it and l always felt like a winner having it, compared to my brothers 2 scoops of ice cream and a wafer. So fast forward 40 something years..... I have always called this dessert delight a banana boat (the fact it looks like a boat) when in fact it's apparently called a banana split! who knew! Ive been calling it the wrong thing all this time!

So I gave the boys a challenge to make their own banana boat and guess what ... they loved it!!

SO would you call it banana split or banana boat????
